Clara Kent is ready to bring “More Bounce” to WYEP By Taylor Fowler
"Clara Kent is her own muse. The Homewood-born R&B artist has notched a number of high-achieving accomplishments to her belt: opening for funk legend Thundercat at Stage AE, appearing in a photo in Vogue Italia, and being CEO of production company, Bounce House Productions.
She was recently hired as WYEP’s newest on-air host, saying she plans to spotlight the talent of Pittsburgh and beyond."
Clara Kent and INEZ look to inspire by highlighting Pittsburgh’s Black R&B scene By Jordan Snowden
“It’s easy to disregard cliche motivational quotes with an eyeroll. “Hang in there, baby” and “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” and “Teamwork makes the dreamwork” aren’t exactly, well, original. But Pittsburgh musicians Clara Kent and INEZ, whose real name is Danielle Walker, feel those sentiments are needed to help uplift the local Black R&B scene.
That’s why the pair created Black November, an entire month dedicated to highlighting Black R&B and soul music in Pittsburgh."
“Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh, a joint program of The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments, has awarded 127 grants totaling $836,450 in the initiative’s 2021 grant-making cycle, including $440,000 in operating support for individual artists and art programs.”
